15 Winter Favorites

I was tagged by my lovely St. Louis blogger friend, Vera of Voice of Vera, to share 15 of my winter favorites!  It sounded like a lot of fun so let’s start!

1. What’s your favorite holiday tradition?

My favorite holiday tradition is that we try something new every year!  We’ve made 3 different types of ornaments the last 3 years for christmas and we made and decorated sugar cookies for the first time this year, but I think that will continue to be a tradition now!  It’s fun to try something new and challenge ourselves to do something new every year.  But for the good ole traditions, I think my favorite it that we get our kids matching PJ’s to open on Christmas Eve.  🙂

2. What is your favorite go-to lippies?

So since I have no idea what lippies is -lol- it’s safe to say I don’t have one!  I looked at my friends answer and she was talking about lipstick.  Funny thing about me, I never wear lipstick and hardly ever wear lipgloss.  But when I have, I had a Bare Minerals Moxie lipgloss that was light pink.  I tried to look it up and they don’t seem to make it anymore.  Goes to show how long it has been!  I like muted pink colors.  Nothing too crazy.  haha  I’m boring!

3. What is your favorite winter scent? (perfume, candles, etc.)

So again, I’m not much of a girl because I don’t wear perfume (even though I love it) so I definitely don’t have scents for the seasons but as far as candles and other smell good things for the home, Cinnamon and Apple or any variation of the two is my fav!!!

4. What’s your go-to winter fashion trend?

Does a coat, gloves, and hat count?  hahaha!   I’m quickly finding out how non girly I am!  At least hopefully I’m humorous to my more fashion savvy friends!  I’m just a jeans and a sweatshirt type of gal!

5. What is your favorite holiday movie?

For a religious one (this is also one of our Christmas Eve traditions) I like the Nativity Story Movie!  I love how realistic it is and really brings it home that they were normal people just like you and me.  For a just for fun movie, I like Last Holiday!

6. What is your favorite holiday tune?

O Holy Night.  Always has been and always will be I think.

7. Do you prefer to travel or stay home?

I love to get out and see different things but I am a homebody and love to stay home.  Especially with kids!  So hard traveling with kids.

8. What’s your winter skincare must have?

I’ve been using multiple different kinds of moisturizers from Paula’s Choice.  I’ve liked them all.  They all seem to work great!

9. What is your favorite winter haircare product?

My all around favorite conditioner is Pureology Hydrate Conditioner.  It has a minty smell and feels amaaazing!

10. What is your favorite winter activity?

While I love the look of snow, I’m not much of a cold weather type girl.  I get cold really easily.  But I do love playing out in the snow with my girls.  They love it so much.

11. What is your favorite winter beauty product?

I’m terrible at this girly girl stuff.  I didn’t know that the different seasons require new and different things!  haha  So I’ll tell you my all around favorite beauty product and that is my mascara.  I’ve tried literally EVERYTHING.  I’m serious.  The BEST mascara out there is Maybelline Full ‘N Soft.  Pure and simple.  You can not change my mind.

12. Love or hate the snow?

If it’s actually snow, not ice, not slush, I love it.

13. What is one item on your wish list?

I can’t say I really have a wishlist.  I’m pretty content.

14. Favorite holiday treat?

Oh, now we are speaking my language!!!  I always look forward to Thanksgiving and my Aunt Linda’s Crab Dip!!!  She so kindly shared the recipe with me since we don’t go to her house for Thanksgiving anymore and I love still having that every year.  It’s even better now that we have Alaska crab to use for it!

15. Do you finish your holiday shopping before December or are you a last minute shopper?

Well if shopping during December makes me a last minute shopper, then I definitely am a last minute shopper!  Although I did a first this year.  I actually went shopping on Christmas Eve for more stocking stuffers for my girls.  I will try my best to get things done before Christmas Eve this next year!

Well, that was fun!  You probably learned a lot about me.  I’m not much of a girly girl and I love food!!!  hahaha  Thanks for tagging me Vera!

Tell me some of your favorites in the comments!

. . .

    1. It’s probably what I look forward to the most about Thanksgiving. So much so, I’ve made it a Christmas thing in our house now too. haha
